Earth Day Volunteering and Celebration!
Come join us in our beautiful Park to celebrate Earth Day 2025! We will have opportunities for volunteer gardening and clean-up, a special live music performance by bands from the Church Street School of Music and Art, a Tree Care Workshop and a plant giveaway/art project for children. This event is co-sponsored by the City Hall Park Conservancy and the Friends of City Hall Park. Pre-registration preferred, please email info@chpc-nyc.org.

Bulb Planting Volunteer Day!
Join us for a special Saturday morning planting bulbs for the Spring! This year we have ordered “Poeticus Recurvus” daffodils, “Gipsy Queen” hyacinths and “Globemaster” alliums. These will provide gorgeous, early spring color to our parterre at the south of the Park. We also need help with raking up the fall leaves, so come join us and see how you can help beautify your local green space!
Free coffee and donuts provided, please bring your own water bottle. Meet at the Fountain.

It's My Park Volunteer Day!
Come join the Friends of City Hall Park for a special tree-themed “It’s My Park Day!” on Saturday, October 26th. From 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM, there will be leaf raking, planting, general clean-up and the creation of a sidewalk chalk art forest . At 1:00 PM, join a short walking tour entitled “Introducing CHP Trees” with naturalist, writer, and photographer Gail Karlsson.
Meet at the welcome table near the Park entrance at Broadway and Warren Street.

You asked, we delivered! The Conservancy is pleased to announce two YOGA classes to be held on the Broadway Lawn (corner of Broadway and Chambers, enter at Warren Street) led by instructors from Fierce Grace studio on Fulton Street. We will have some clean yoga mats available for use, or bring your own. Don’t forget a water bottle! Suggested donation of $10, but not required. Funds help us keep the Park clean and bring more programming.

Second Saturdays Volunteer Gardening
A new series of volunteer gardening days starts this month, called “Second Saturdays. These mornings will be filled with meeting your neighbors, coffee from Variety Roasters, and the satisfaction of helping your community! Come join us this Saturday October 14th at 9:00 AM as we meet in the northern section of the Park - at the Warren Street Gate and the Commons Lawn - to pick up branches, rake fall leaves, and deadhead the Pollinator Corner. Volunteer Day!
Come grow with us! By joining us on Wednesday, August 9th, from 5 pm to 7 pm. We are going to help our Northwest lawn better known as the Broadway Lawn grow. We plan to rake the area, set up the watering, and also pitchfork holes to aerate the soil before we spread the seeds. All help is welcome, and we hope to see you there.

Park Volunteer Day
With Partership for Parks and our very own NYC Parks Dept Gardener, we’ll be hosting a volunteer work day in City Hall Park on Friday, March 31st from 10 am - 1 pm. Come meet at the work shed located in the northwest corner of the Park adjacent to the Tweed Courthouse in the morning to receive tools, instructions and guidance. We’ll be working together to rake, spread mulch and weed our Pollinator Garden as we prepare the Park for Spring. Please register by sending an email to info@chpc-nyc.org.

Fall Fest!
Come join us as we plant crocus and daffodil bulbs in the NE section of the Park, and celebrate Fall together! Cider and donuts provided. Join wild foods author Marie Viljoen on a botanical walk around City Hall Park. Come and discover the edible urban forest hiding in plain sight. Among other plants we will meet the stately ginkgo, one of the oldest living and most revered tree species on the planet, whose stinky fruit can be transformed into a delectable snack.
We’ll also be hosting a fall-themed book reading by the New York Public Library for children.
